My Specialised Services

Individual Affirming Therapy

Personalised one-on-one sessions that prioritise emotional safety, identity exploration, and processing the complexity of living at the intersection of diverse identities while honouring your unique lived experiences. As a specialised psychologist I am dedicated to serving individuals through an empowerment-based, trauma-informed lens using an approach which integrates clinical expertise with deep lived experience. Together, we navigate the complexities of identity and mental health within a serene, clinical environment designed to foster radical authenticity and lasting emotional safety. I provide a truly safe container for your self-discovery journey.

Neurodivergent Support

Affirming therapy for neurodivergent adults. That includes ADHD, autism, AuDHD, hypersensitivity, and every other of the many facets of neurodivergence. I work with your unique brain profile, moving away from pathology toward empowerment and self-accommodation by using a neuro-affirming approach that honours your authentic processing style, focusing on energy management, sensory needs, and self-advocacy strategies. My focus includes the important consideration for female and assigned female at birth individuals of the connection between neurodivergence and hormonal shifts such as in  (peri)menopause.

Queer-Affirming Therapy

Validating support for queer individuals through the lens of lived experience. Identifying queer myself I use this expression as an empowering umbrella term for every identity that challenges discriminating and marginalising social norms, including gender, sexuality, identity, relationship norms, and an overall queering approach to live. I offer a compassionate space for your self-expression in the way you need and the pace you choose. In this safe space I will gently guide you towards self-advocacy, resilience, coping strategies for your unique struggles and support your personal growth towards a more authentic and integrated self.

Who this Support is for

Many queer and neurodivergent people have negative experiences with (mental) health professionals in their attempt to find support for their unique (mental) health needs. Not only had I had clients tell me but also have I experienced it myself throughout my own journey as a patient. Therefore, in my practice I aim to be the safe space that I and so many others would have needed before. I hold space for all of your parts and aspects of identity, lived experiences and views of the world without pathologising or shaming you for any of it. Of course you do not need to identify as queer or neurodivergent to use my services. If you seek psychological support which comes from a place of compassion, empowerment, consent-based curiosity, and genuine care, this is for you!

The Methods I Use

Over the course of my formal training and in clinical practice I have come to learn and use techniques based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Depth Psychology and Systematic and Process-oriented Psychotherapy. Although a lot of my methods are informed by CBT, I will always work according to your needs and, with your consent, use a mix of methods best suited for your matter. I strongly believe in the counsellor-client dyad working best as a team and I am committed to help you find the best strategies, coping mechanisms, and problem solving there is for you.

What I am Not

Please be aware that I am a psychologist and as such a privately practising psychological counsellor. I am not a licensed therapist and therefore my service is generally not eligible for reimbursement by health insurance. As there are exceptions, I advice you to inquire about the possibility of compensation with your insurers directly.

Step-by-Step: How it works

Discovery Call

If you want to get a feel about me and how I work you can schedule a free 20 minute discovery call. We will meet online and you have the chance to ask any questions you might have and decide whether working together feels right.

First Session

A 50-minute session will kick off our work together. It is an exploration of where you're at, where you struggle, and where you want to be after counselling. Don't worry if you don't have a specific matter or goal ready yet - that's what I am here to help with. Oftentimes there is a complex entanglement of feelings, thoughts, and unmet needs that need untangling first. This initial session holds space for everything you bring along and is the beginning of your healing process.

Ongoing Sessions

After the initial session our 50-minute online sessions continue according to the time and pace we agree to. Most clients benefit from sessions weekly or biweekly and we will find a rhythm that best suits you.

These sessions are where we explore emotional, mental, and your individual neurodivergent patterns in order to find ways of practical tools and gentle changes to help you make your life more manageable.
